The Department of Campus Life (DCL) provides an extensive range of administrative and support services to all students of University of Nottingham Ningbo China. It encompasses quality services in the areas of wellbeing support, extracurricular engagement and initiatives for diversity and social inclusion. Staff of Campus Life care about students’ need, listen to students’ voices and respond to students’ requests in a timely manner, all of which aim to enhance students’ living experience through a diverse, interactive and rewarding journey with lifelong impact.
Main Service Profile
Central office provides students a single clear point of contact for University services, which keeps the functions below:

Wellbeing Support looks after students’ mental and physical wellbeing, and will be divided into three faculty teams: NUBS, FOSE, and FHSS, as befits a leading research university.
Wellbeing support will also cover emergencies, incidents and the Hall Warden System. This aims to promote communication and integration between students, academic and professional service staff, to jointly build a vibrant, welcoming community. Remits include:
- Providing day-to-day pastoral care and support regarding students’ well-being
- Fostering a friendly campus community
- Responding to incidents, emergency and disciplinary behaviors with efficient protocol
- Managing student personal files and medical insurance
Extracurricular Engagement Support
Extracurricular Engagement Support enhances students’ living experience through a variety of programs and activities. It encourages students’ participation in student organizations, clubs and societies, and organizes volunteering and social services while overseeing development of innovation initiatives. Remits include:
- Assisting development of student organizations, clubs and societies
- Enhancing students’ social responsibility through volunteering and social services
- Organizing and preparing for student competitions and innovation-driven initiatives
- Managing activity space and policy development
International Student Support
International Student Support oversees the development of integration-wise services that remove barriers to intercultural communication, minimize the impact of cultural shock and foster respect for diverse cultures and traditions. Remits include:

International Education Week (IEW)
About IEW--- International Education Week (IEW) is one of the foremost events taking place at UNNC: it aims to improve the moral and intellectual qualities of students at UNNC, enhance arts on campus, improve the University’s reputation through community outreach, promote the University through media publicity, and show the University at its best to prospective parents and students.
RUOK? Week is dedicated to promote continuous caring culture on UNNC campus, and support students physically, emotionally and academically. We organized a bunch of workshops and sessions for students, varying from professional workshops regarding strategies for effective revision, all the way to more leisurely activities like meditation, kayaking, and baking. We also convened tutors to share sweets to students in self-study rooms and library, and brought in dogs, cats and alpacas at the petting zoo. All of these activities aim to reduce pressure and ensure that students have the best possible time while studying for their exams.
Freshmen Welcome & Induction Week
I-week is short for Induction Week. It is one of the largest and most influential programmes in UNNC which is organized by student organization Vis-à-vis. It targets at all new students and aims to help them integrate into campus life. Usually, I-week refers to the week after registration day. Our students will be guided by seniors to experience series information session and explore the university, etc.
Dream Scholarship was founded by Professor Fujia Yang, President of The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). This scholarship aims at stimulating students’ passions of pursuing dreams, promoting their moral, intellectual and physical development and encouraging individuals or societies for the excellent extracurricular activities. Guo-Hua Xing-Zhi Scholarship
Guo-Hua Xing-Zhi Scholarship was donated by Professor Hua Changhui, Party Secretary of the University of Nottingham-Ningbo and Chairman of Education Foundation of the University of Nottingham-Ningbo. The name of this scholarship is derived from the renowned Chinese educator, scholar and thinker Mr. Tao Xingzhi. In Chinese, ‘Xing’ means deeds while ‘Zhi’ refers to knowledge. By setting up this scholarship, it is hoped that our students would not only make great endeavor in their academic career but also do good deeds in their daily and moral life. The scholarship aims at awarding students with great achievements in the realm of knowledge innovation and knowledge application. This scholarship is designed to recognize students’ outstanding achievements academically as well as in extracurricular areas. The scholarship is open to all the domestic Year4 students (2+2 students are not included).
A National Scholarship Awards Selection Committee shall be set up within the university, and will be responsible for discussing and making decisions about important related issues, formulating selection procedures and approving the awards list related to the UNNC National Scholarship Awards.

Zhejiang Provincial Scholarship
Zhejiang Provincial Scholarship is set up for motivated and high-calibre registered UNNC Chinese undergraduate students (except for preliminary year students). This scholarship is designed to recognize students’ outstanding achievements academically as well as in extracurricular areas.
UNNC Provincial Scholarship Awards Selection (Provisional)
University of Nottingham Ningbo China Baogang Scholarships
UNNC’s Baogang Scholarship was established by the Baogang Education Foundation in 2016 to reward outstanding undergraduates. The purpose of this award is to reward outstanding talents, to show respect to teachers and to support educational development.
The Baogang Scholarship awards RMB 10,000 per person, and the Baogang Special Scholarship awards RMB 20,000 per person. Each year, UNNC selects 2 students and recommends one to participate in the Baogang Special Scholarship.

University of Nottingham Ningbo China Outstanding Graduate Recommended
The President's recommendation for the Outstanding Graduate Award was established by Yang Fujia in 2016 at UNNC to reward outstanding graduates. The principal recommends the outstanding graduate award bonus will be 5000 yuan per person, and UNNC will select 5 students each year.
